the Capital Area – PA Young Marines website.
The Young Marines is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 youth education program
for boys and girls ages eight through high school. The program focuses on character building
through a combination of self-discipline, teamwork and leadership, as well as
promoting a healthy, drug free lifestyle.
The Young Marines is the official youth program of the U.S. Marine Corps
and the focal point of the Marine Corps’ Youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts.
The
Capital Area – PA Young Marines was formed in 1989. The Young Marines was founded in 1959, by the
Brass City detachment of the Marine Corps League in Waterbury, CT. The Young
Marines received their charter on October 17, 1965, and continues its
affiliation with the Marine Corps League.
The Capital Area – PA Unit is supported by the Hummelstown, PA Marine
Corps League Bob Smith Detachment #784.
We
